Job Description

To ensure effective support and guidance to Central Processing team members that will ensure department productivity expectations are met and maintained while maintaining a positive, healthy work environment.


  • Monitor the daily Central Processing operations:
    • Direct and support team members by answering any day to day questions as needed.
    • Monitor team productivity ensuring the successful and smooth flow of work within the team is maintained and all deadlines and department expectations are met.
    • Ensure team members are following department policies and procedures accordingly.
    • Assist with the processing of requests for medical record release as needed.
    • Conduct or assist with new hire training and/or additional one-on-one training for existing team members as needed.
    • Monitor and report employee quality, productivity or performance issues to Department Supervisor and or Department Manager.
    • Assist with quality reviews as needed or requested.
    • Ensure quality customer service is provided to all internal and external customers.
    • Responsible for upholding security and confidentiality regulations, company policies and procedures, and maintaining a high level of professionalism and good rapport with staff members.
    • Ensure staff follows all company policies as stated in the company handbook, company intranet, or communicated by management.
    • Maintain confidentiality by keeping all information seen and heard within the boundaries of the role in the strictest confidence.
  • Reports to work as scheduled.
  • Promote an attitude of cooperation and team work with an expectation of excellence consistently demonstrating the same.
  • Be encouraging and supportive to all employee in a friendly manner treating each employee equally.
  • Your demeanor should reflect a positive supportive productive attitude that will inspire the employee in the Central Processing Department.
  • Complies with all IOD Policies, specifically, attendance and punctuality.
  • Assists staff who work remotely accessing work related projects and tasks via site VPN access.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Consideration for the role of CPC Senior Processor requires all of the following:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • 6 months of Central Processing experience required.
  • Friendly, professional manner of communication. Good customer service skills.
  • Must have typing, keyboard, and computer experience. 
  • Medical Terminology class is strongly encouraged. 
  • Experience in the follow fields would be beneficial: Data Entry, Medical Records, Health Care, Insurance Claims Processing and Proof Reading/Editing of Documents.
  • Strong attention to detail is desired.  Ability to stay organized while working quickly.
  • Required to take and pass a 90-day ROI Certification course with a score of 85% or higher.
  • Passing annual Introductory HIPAA examination.  (Testing to be given annually in accordance with employee review.)

Working conditions

Over 90% of the time is spent indoors, with protection from weather conditions.  Exposure to noise levels that may be distracting or uncomfortable is present in only unusual situations.

Physical requirements

Sitting, talking, hearing and near vision are required over 90% of the time, while walking is required about 10% of the time.  Standing is required over 30% of the time.  The sense of touch is required 90% of the time and reaching is required about 50% of the time.  Bending, twisting, and climbing are required, as is far vision, but only for 10% or less of the time.  Low levels of lifting (10 pounds or less) are required about 25% of the time, while medium levels (20 to 40 pounds) of lifting and carrying are required less than 5% of the time.  High levels (52 pounds) of lifting are required under 2% of the time.  Driving is a considerable portion of the position.
