Job Description


Monitors coders, serves as a resource and facilitator, assigns projects to coders, monitors quality and production as well assuring improvement of efficiency and quality of coders.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Verify schedule entry and hours worked on assigned coders
  • Receive, merge, and track quality scores and feedback on assigned coders
  • Receive, merge, and track charts per hour on assigned coders
  • Provide summary of productivity findings to coders on a daily basis, including education on time management and best coding practices
  • Report trends for education opportunities in both quality and productivity to management for review / and or action
  • Receive, record, and approve time off requests
  • In conjunction with Senior Manager of Operations may be required to complete or escalate a Corrective Action Plan. (CAPs)
  • In conjunction with Senior Manager of Operations provides feedback regarding Annual Performance Reviews on employees
  • Provides information on quality, dependability, flexibility and wiliness to understand coding and apply guidelines and concepts as indicated
  • Works as a liaison with coders for daily / weekly concerns and presents to Senior Manager of Operations for discussion
  • Any other tasks required by management

Job Requirements


Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of ICD -9/10
  • Ability to be flexible in work environment
  • Familiar with HCC coding
  • 2 years coding experience
  • A strong knowledge base of medical terminology, medical abbreviations, pharmacology and disease processes
  • Ability to work in a fast paced production environment while maintaining high quality
  • Must be able to follow instructions, meet deadlines and work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work in a remote environment, and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of the business use of computer hardware and software to ensure effectiveness and quality of the processing and security of the data
  • Must be able to commit to the following, PT a minimum of 20 hours, FT minimum of 40 hours weekly
  • Ability to be able work on multiple client projects
  • AHIMA certified credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC certified credentials (CPC, , CPC-H, COC, CIC, or CRC)
